Speaker: Jay O'Neil, USA
Jay O’Neil has 45 years of experience in global commodity markets. He started out of college with Continental Grain Company
in San Francisco, where he worked as a grain trader. The next seven years he was with the Pillsbury Company
of Minneapolis. Then he served with the Ferruzzi Group
of Ravenna, Italy, in its New Orleans office. Jay O’Neil was with Bartlett Grain Company
for 17 years serving as general manager of the transportation and export divisions. For the past twelve years, Jay has operated his own private consulting company, which publishes a private weekly ocean freight and transportation report covering the dry-bulk and containerized grain markets. Jay has just retired from his 12-year position as the senior agricultural economist for the International Grains Program at Kansas State University
. Jay served for many years on the National Grain & Feed Association’s Trade Rules committee. He is also a past chairman and an emeritus member of the North American Export Grain Association’s Contracts and Arbitration Committee. Jay continues to serve as an arbitrator with this trade association.
