Record-Breaking Attendance at the 7th edition of the grain event for the Balkans and the Black Sea region


We are thrilled to announce the resounding success of the recently concluded Grain Academy 2023 Conference, a dynamic event dedicated to discussing and analyzing grain markets in 2023 and beyond. With four captivating discussion panels, our event provided invaluable insights into the ever-evolving landscape of the grain business.

We were honored to host industry experts and professionals from around the world, Europe and the Balkans who contributed to the success of the event. Grain Academy 2023 served as a platform for attendees to gain new perspectives, forge valuable connections, and explore opportunities in the grain industry.

Markets in 2023 and Beyond, the Black Sea, and the World was the first session of the conference, and it delved deep into the challenges and opportunities facing the grain industry.
The panel featured three prominent speakers who shared their expertise on various aspects of the grain industry. The sub-topics and speakers included:

Macro, Crypto, Currencies, Stocks

  • Presented by Petar Dimitrov, Agricore, Bulgaria

The second discussion panel, titled Focus on the Balkans and Their Growing Impact on Global Trade, delved into the role of the Balkans in the global grain trade and logistics.
The panel, moderated by Ivaylo Nenkov from BG Agro Trading Company, Bulgaria highlighted the significance of the Balkans in the context of global trade. The sub-topics and speakers included:

  • Presented by Alexandru Neagu, Cargill Romania.

Turkish Market - Trading In

  • Presented by Serkan Kayıkçı, Cosecha Yem Ve Tarim Urunleri̇ Tic.

Serbian Crops and the Trade Flows

  • Presented by Aleksandar Lalic, Agricom Company Group.
Each presentation offered a unique perspective on the role of the Balkans in the global grain trade and highlighted the growth and potential of this region as a key player in the industry.

The 7th edition on 26 October continued with an engaging round table discussion titled The Great Talk for the Bulgarian Grain Industry. This important dialogue of the conference aimed to address the specific challenges and opportunities facing the Bulgarian grain industry.
Silvia Ivanova from ADM Bulgaria skillfully moderated the round table, which featured prominent participants from various sectors of the Bulgarian grain industry. Key figures driving the discussion included Paulina Deshkova, Viand JSC, Ilia Prodanov representing the Bulgarian Grain Producers Association, Tsvetan Iliev from Boni Holding, Georgi Al Fahad, Oliva JSC, and Plamen Ivanov, GoodМills Bulgaria. Notably, the discourse also saw active participation from numerous industry representatives in the audience.
Participants engaged in fervent discussions, offering their diverse experiences, insights, and contrasting viewpoints to tackle the industry's challenges, while actively seeking opportunities for mutual understanding. The round table discussion provided a valuable opportunity for industry leaders and experts to come together and chart a course for the Bulgarian grain industry's future and served as a platform for open and constructive discussions on the state of the Bulgarian grain industry, its prospects, and the path forward.

The panel discussions delved into critical subjects, such as transportation logistics, fertilizer market trends, and practical insights into voyage charters. Attendees had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the broader ecosystem that supports the grains and oilseeds sectors.
